Press release: Ista powered by Qovoltis

Condominiums and charging stations

ista chooses Qovoltis and launches an innovative charging solution for electric vehicles in condominium buildings: “ista powered by Qovoltis”.

ista, the number 1 in the metering and individualization of water and energy consumption in collective housing, formalizes the launch of a new activity: the installation of charging stations for electric vehicles in condominiums, by joining forces with Qovoltis, the French designer of charging stations, French designer of charging stations, winner of the 2021 Grand Prix of the Automobile Club de France Autotech.

This new activity consolidates the committed positioning of ista, which thus reinforces its role as a key player in the energy transition in France. Through its exclusive partnership with Qovoltis, ista wants to allow tens of thousands of buildings in France to have access to the innovative and intelligent charging solution developed by the young French SME.

The first terminals in collective residences under the “ista powered by Qovoltis” brand will be put into service in September 2022.

An environmental and legislative context favorable to the deployment of electric terminals

The decision of the European Parliament to ban the sale of new combustion engine vehicles as early as 2035 marks a historic turning point in the fight against climate change. The European Union, which aims at carbon neutrality by 2050, thus wishes to increase the growth of the electric car fleet quickly and structurally.
“Support for clean cars is conditional on the establishment of a vast territorial network of charging stations. This challenge is decisive and convinced us to use our expertise in collective housing combined with the most innovative charging solution on the market to propose a new offer for installing charging infrastructures for electric vehicles (IRVE) in residences. Remember that 90% of refills are made directly at the user's home! ”, explains Laurent Sireix, President of ista France.

Established in a large number of condominiums with more than 6 million meters deployed, ista has partnered with Qovoltis, a specialist in intelligent electric mobility, to ensure the installation and management of electric charging stations within the collective housing stock. Objective: to accelerate the deployment of charging stations throughout the country by initiating sustainable partnerships with condominiums.

A profitable investment for residents

Electric mobility continues to confirm its dynamism: 303,1001 electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles were registered during 2021, an increase of +63% compared to 2020. In this context, the installation of a home charging station is gradually becoming an essential investment for co-owners and will quickly constitute real added value when selling or renting a property.

“In 10 years, half of the car fleet will be electric, while only 2% of condominiums are now equipped with charging station2. It is a paradox on which it is time to act in order to meet market demand and avoid charging shortages. Our historical ties with condominiums and trustees position us as a real trusted partner” declares Laurent Sireix.

An intelligent and connected terminal

Through its partnership with ista, the smart charging solution for electric vehicles developed by Qovoltis will play a major role in the development of electric mobility in France. A technological device with numerous strengths:

  • With its smartphone application, the user can start charging in complete peace of mind by specifying the departure time and the desired quantity of electricity, and the Qovoltis intelligent system takes care of everything at the best price.
  • If the user is in a hurry, he chooses the “fast” mode. This allows it to benefit from the greatest power available.
  • With transparent billing, each user only pays for what they consume to the nearest kWh: no lost package, no unused kilometers, no billing on time...
  • The unique dynamic power distribution system using artificial intelligence techniques, allows Qovoltis to satisfy each user while minimizing the impact on the electricity distribution network.
  • Compatible with the “Plug & Charge3” standard, as soon as compatible vehicles are available, the user will be able to start charging without using the application or an RFID card. Everything will go through a secure automatic authentication between the vehicle and the terminal through the power cable.
  • Finally, compatible with the future V2G4 standard, Qovoltis terminals will allow each electric vehicle to become a micro producer of electricity and thus participate in balancing the distribution network and in controlling CO2 emissions.

Ista and Qovoltis will develop the “ista powered by Qovoltis” solution hand in hand.

“The ista offer powered by Qovoltis is undoubtedly the best on the electric mobility market. Where some players rely on very expensive chargers, ista and Qovoltis have the ambition to democratize charging in the home. No more risk of prematurely damaging your batteries, no need to waste 30 minutes waiting for your battery to be only 80% full and to spend as much as if you filled up with fuel, no need to fear the few additional minutes which, by force, cost you very much,... Qovoltis aims to revolutionize the world of charging:
the user must be able to charge his vehicle without any visible constraints. It is all the intelligence of the technology developed by Qovoltis that makes it possible to achieve this double objective of satisfying the customer while maintaining the electrical network.” adds Ehsan Emami, Founder and President of Qovoltis.

“When we decided to launch this new activity, we made it a point of honor to collaborate with a French company that manufactures its terminals in France. Today, we are particularly proud to start this new adventure alongside Qovoltis. The quality and performance of its offer, and the sharing of common values, immediately seduced us.” Laurent Sireix, President of ista France.
