Subsidies for the installation of a charging station 2021

Do you want to install a charging station for an electric vehicle? To encourage the development of electric mobility in France, the State offers several mechanisms to help individuals, condominiums and businesses to finance the installation of a charging station. What is the amount of these grants? What are the conditions for obtaining? Qovoltis helps you see things more clearly.

Two aids for installing a charging station in a single-family home

For individuals, two grants can be combined to finance the purchase and installation work ofa charging station for an electric vehicle.

  • 5.5% VAT

It is possible to benefit from the VAT reduced to 5.5% for the installation of a charging station at home.

What conditions? The home must have been completed at least two years ago. For professionals or individual homes built less than two years ago, VAT is fixed at 20%.

  • The tax credit

This tax credit is offered to owners, tenants or occupants free of charge of their main and/or secondary residence. It has replaced the CITE (Tax Credit for Energy Transition) since January 1, 2021. Attention: for installation works financed before this date, the CITE remains valid under certain conditions.

Its amount corresponds to 75% of the expenses incurred for the supply and installation of the charging station, up to a limit of €300 per station. For the same home, the tax credit is limited to one charging system for a single person (€300 maximum) and to two charging systems for a couple subject to joint taxation (€600 maximum).

What conditions? To be eligible, the main residence must have been completed at least two years ago and the charging station installed by an IRVE qualified professional. Some manufacturers, such as Qovoltis, offer the sale of their charging solution the installation by an IRVE electrician.

Good to know: installation by an IRVE certified electrician is mandatory for any terminal whose power is greater than 3.7 kW.

Condominiums and businesses: focus on the Advenir bonus

The Advenir program is an aid that allows businesses and condominiums to finance the installation of a charging station in their car park. Its amount corresponds to 50% of the cost of buying and installing the charging system, with a ceiling of €960 per station. In the case of a shared electric charging station, the ceiling is fixed at €1,660 excluding tax.

For condominiums, The right to take allows tenants and owners living in a multi-family building to install a charging point on their parking space to charge their electric vehicle. They can benefit from the Advenir program, under certain conditions.

What conditions? The terminal must have a power of less than or equal to 22 kW, be labeled Advenir and be installed by an IRVE certified electrician. Qovoltis electric vehicle charging solutions are thus eligible: the Advenir bonus is directly deducted from the amount of the invoice and the company takes care of the administrative procedures necessary to obtain it. You don't have to do anything! Si

On the other hand, your installer does not take care of the formalities, the request must be made on the online platform. advenir.mobi.

Despite the State's initiatives to promote the transition to electric vehicles, it is interesting to note that the amount of the Advenir bonus is decreasing year by year. Before November 1, 2020, its maximum ceiling was set at €1,360. Since then, it has increased to €960, i.e. a decrease in the care rate from 40% to... 20%.

Good to know: single-family homes are not eligible for Advenir assistance.
